During the summit, CHP held its fourth Safe Transportation Achievement Recognition (STAR) Awards program formally recognizing those in the trucking industry who are committed to developing and sustaining safe day to day operations. Organized into six categories, candidates of the awards were required to display satisfactory BIT inspections in all terminal locations throughout California for the past six years. Among other criteria, applicants were also required to showcase a satisfactory rating for compliance with Controlled Substances and Alcohol Testing requirements, provide valid intrastate or interstate permit, registration operating authority, and more.
Recognized in four out of six categories, California Trucking Association members were awarded for their commitment to safety. CTA winners included:
