Following the event, members were given the opportunity to visit 60 legislative offices to discuss:
· The immediate return of $1 billion in truck weight fees for roadway maintenance.
· The consideration of diesel excise tax as new revenues generated by trucking.
· Ensuring that all new generated revenues are dedicated to roadway projects.
· The support of AB 21 to provide the state with the opportunity to authorize new emissions reduction goals while giving the Legislature more direct oversight.
To conclude the day, the California Trucking Association hosted a reception at Mayahuel where truckers, elected officials, and capitol staffers gathered to celebrate a successful day.
