Driver of the Month/Year Awards Program

Every year, the California Trucking Association honors our state's best truck drivers by naming them Drivers of the Month for the current year.

The process begins with a CTA member company nominating drivers who have demonstrated dedication to their job and the safety responsibilities that come with that position.

A company with a current CTA membership in good standing may enter California-domiciled drivers with no limit on the number of entries per company. There is a $ 35-per-application program fee that supports nomination review, award administration, promotion of winners, recognition materials, and the annual banquet celebrating California's safest and most professional drivers.

These nominations are then presented to an independent panel of judges.

The selection panel meets to review and evaluate all nominations. Before the panel sees the forms, the names of drivers and companies are removed to ensure that each candidate and their company remain anonymous.

The program culminates each November with a pair of banquets - one in the North, the other in the South - where each winner is awarded a plaque and recognized for their outstanding service. The night is also filled with great excitement and anticipation as the Driver of the Year honor is revealed for the first time and bestowed upon the unknowing recipient.
