CTA's Favorite Driver Sweepstakes
This promotion is hosted by the California Trucking Association during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. Visit the California Trucking Association's NEW FACEBOOK PAGE to participate.
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. Sponsor
The CTA Favorite Driver Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by the California Trucking Association (“CTA”), 4148 East Commerce Way, Sacramento, CA 95834 (“Sponsor”).
The Sweepstakes prize is sponsored by Engine. Engine is not responsible for the administration of the Sweepstakes or selection of the winner.
2. Sweepstakes Period
The Sweepstakes begins September 15, 2026, when the official Sweepstakes post is published on CTA’s Facebook page, and ends September 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (“Sweepstakes Period”).
Nominations submitted after the Sweepstakes Period will not be eligible.
3. Driver Eligibility
To be eligible to receive the prize, a nominated driver must, both at the time of nomination and when the prize is awarded:
Be at least 18 years old;
Be domiciled in the State of California, meaning California is the driver’s principal and permanent state of residence;
Be actively employed by or actively providing professional commercial driving services for a trucking or motor carrier business;
Hold a current, valid Commercial Driver’s License (“CDL”); and
Satisfy the verification requirements contained in these Official Rules.
CTA membership is not required to nominate a driver or to be selected as the winning driver.
Employees, officers, and members of their immediate households are not eligible to receive the prize.
4. How to Nominate
During the Sweepstakes Period, visit the official CTA Favorite Driver Sweepstakes post on CTA’s Facebook page and leave a comment that:
Tags or identifies your favorite professional truck driver;
Identifies the company they drive for; and
Tells us why they deserve to be recognized.
There is no purchase or fee required to submit a nomination.
By submitting a nomination, the nominator represents that the information provided is truthful to the best of their knowledge and that they have a good-faith belief that the nominated driver satisfies the eligibility requirements.
5. Multiple Nominations
More than one person may nominate the same driver, and nominators may nominate more than one eligible driver.
However, each eligible driver will receive only one entry in the random drawing, regardless of the number of nominations received.
Additional nominations therefore do not increase a driver’s odds of winning.
6. Winner Selection and Prize
Following the close of the Sweepstakes, CTA will randomly select one (1) potential winner from all unique eligible drivers nominated during the Sweepstakes Period.
The verified winner will receive:
ONE (1) $1,000 Travel Credit to be used through Engine.com
ONE (1) $500 Visa gift card
Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $1,500.00
The prize will be awarded directly to the nominated driver, not to the individual who submitted the nomination.
The travel credit is subject to any applicable Engine account, booking, redemption, expiration, availability, or other terms and conditions. The Visa gift card is subject to the terms and conditions of the card issuer. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash except as determined by Sponsor or where required by law. No substitution of the prize by the winner is permitted; however, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.
Odds of winning depend upon the number of unique eligible drivers nominated.
7. Eligibility Verification
Selection in the drawing makes the driver a potential winner only. The prize will not be awarded until CTA verifies the driver’s eligibility.
CTA may require the potential winner to provide documentation or information sufficient to verify:
Legal name and identity;
Age;
California domicile/residency;
Current and valid CDL;
Current employment or professional driving relationship with a trucking or motor carrier business; and
Employer or motor carrier information.
CTA may independently contact the identified employer or motor carrier to verify the driver’s current status.
The potential winner must also complete and return a properly completed IRS Form W-9 and any prize acceptance, eligibility, publicity, or other documentation reasonably required by CTA before receiving the prize.
If the potential winner does not satisfy the eligibility requirements, cannot be verified, fails to provide requested documentation within the time specified by CTA, declines the prize, or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules, the potential winner will be disqualified, and CTA may randomly select an alternate potential winner.
8. Winner Notification
CTA will make reasonable efforts to contact the potential winner through the nominator, Facebook, the driver’s employer, or other contact information reasonably available to CTA.
The potential winner must respond to CTA within five (5) business days after CTA’s initial notification attempt.
If CTA cannot contact the potential winner or the potential winner does not respond within the required period, CTA may select an alternate potential winner.
9. Taxes
The winner is solely responsible for any federal, state or local taxes or other obligations associated with acceptance of the prize.
Prize and award income may be taxable even when an information return is not required to be issued by the Sponsor. CTA will comply with all applicable tax reporting and withholding requirements.
Potential winners should consult their own tax adviser regarding the tax consequences of accepting the prize.
10. Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for CTA to use the winner’s name, photograph, likeness, company affiliation and Sweepstakes-related story for purposes of announcing the winner, promoting the Sweepstakes and recognizing professional truck drivers, without additional compensation.
CTA may request a photograph and additional information from the winner for purposes of a winner announcement.
11. Conduct and Disqualification
CTA reserves the right to disregard or remove nominations that contain fraudulent, false, misleading, inappropriate, offensive, defamatory or otherwise unsuitable content.
CTA also reserves the right to disqualify any participant or nominated driver who attempts to manipulate, disrupt, abuse or fraudulently influence the Sweepstakes or its administration.
12. Facebook Disclaimer
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Meta.
By participating, each participant acknowledges that information submitted in connection with the Sweepstakes is being provided to CTA and not to Facebook or Meta.
Participants release Facebook and Meta from responsibility associated with the administration of this Sweepstakes to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Participation is also subject to applicable Facebook terms and policies.
13. General Conditions
CTA reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures, Facebook outages or restrictions, unauthorized intervention or other circumstances beyond CTA’s reasonable control materially affect the integrity or administration of the Sweepstakes.
CTA’s determinations concerning eligibility and administration of the Sweepstakes are final to the extent permitted by applicable law.
CTA is not responsible for lost, deleted, inaccessible, incomplete or misdirected comments or nominations; Facebook account or privacy settings; technical failures; or other circumstances outside CTA’s reasonable control that prevent a nomination from being viewed or received.
14. Privacy
Information collected from a potential winner will be used for eligibility verification, prize administration, tax compliance and related Sweepstakes purposes.
Do not post CDL numbers, Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, home addresses or other sensitive personal information in a Facebook comment. CTA will obtain any necessary verification or tax information directly and privately from the potential winner.
15. Governing Law
The Sweepstakes and these Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
